Applying

The next application round for the intake 2010 begins in October when the application round for the two Erasmus Mundus programmes, NordSecMob and euSYSBIO, begins. The application round for most of the Master's programmes available in the faculty begins on January 4, 2010.

Application periods for the intake 2010:  

  • mid-October - November 25, 2009 (euSYSBIO)
  • mid-October - December 1, 2009 (NordSecMob)
  • November 16 - February 1, 2010 (Bioinformatics)
  • January 4 - February 26, 2010 (all other Master's programmes)

Evaluation of applications

If the application fulfills TKK's admission requirements and includes all required documents, it is sent to academic evaluation. Only eligible applications are sent to academic evaluation.

Admission to the programme is granted on a competitive basis, the applicants are assessed on the basis of their previous academic record. The number of seats is restricted. The final selection result depends on the number and quality of applications.

Due to the number of applications, the faculty is not able to comment on individual applications or their position before or during the application process.

 

Selection criteria

The applicants are evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:

  1. recognition and quality of the home institution
  2. language proficiency
  3. validity and content of the degree(s)
  4. study success
  5. motivation
  6. recommendations
  7. relevant work experience or other relevant activity (publications, patents etc.)

The Selection Board of each programme reserves the right to decide whether the applicant's degree and/or university meets the selection criteria.
